2019 the 1st CAAM C8 Summit Held in Beijing

  On June 19, 2019 the 1st CAAM C8 summit was held in Beijing. The main leaders of C8 enterprises attended the summit, including FAW Jiefang, SINOTRUK, Dongfeng Trucks, Shaanxi Automobile Group, Foton Motor Group, JAC, SIH and DFAC.

  The government officials and CAAM leaders also participated in. They were Mr. Guan Jian, the Consultant of Equipment Department of MIIT, Mr. Cao Lei, the Deputy Director of Transport Service Department of MOT, Mr. He Yong, the Duty Engineer of Academy of Transportation Sciences of MOT, Mr. Dong Jinsong, the Section Chief of Academy of Transportation Sciences of MOT, Mr. Wang Guoqiang, the Deputy Director of Transportation Administration Bureau of MPS, Mr. Ma Mingyue, the Deputy Consultant of Transportation Administration Bureau of MPS, Mr. Fu Bingfeng, the Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CAAM, Mr. Ye Shengji, the Deputy Secretary General of CAAM and Mr. Li Shaohua, the Secretary General Assistant of CAAM.

  Besides, the leaders from CAMC, JMC, SAIC MAXUS, Qingling Motors (Group) and Shandong Wuzheng Group were invited to attend as non-voting attendee. The members of C8 executive committee as well as colleagues of CAAM Industry Development Department also attended.

  The summit was jointly hosted by Mr. Hu Hanjie, the Chairman of FAW Jiefang & Rotating Chairman of C8 and Mr. Ye Shengji, the Deputy Secretary General of CAAM.

  Mr. Fu Bingfeng, the Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CAAM, delivered an opening speech. He pointed out that the commercial vehicle industry had made prominent contributions to national economic development for more than 40 years since the reform and opening up to play a big role in logistics, urban construction and construction of a well-off society. However, at present, the internal and external environment of commercial vehicle development was facing great changes. On the one hand, the development of new technologies like ICV and NEV and “Belt and Road” brought lots of opportunities. On the other hand, the early implementation of China 6 and the liberalization of foreign share ratios also aroused larger impacts. It is hoped to propose reasonable solutions to those problems faced, so that to promote the healthy development of the industry by in-depth exchanges between government and enterprises.

Mr. Ye Shengji, the Deputy Secretary General of CAAM

  Mr. Hu Hanjie, the Chairman of FAW Jiefang and Mr. Ye Shengji, the Deputy Secretary General of CAAM gave speech successively. Mr. Hu Hanjie expressed that FAW Jiefang was willing to participate in exchanges with the government to discuss industrial issues. Meanwhile, he wished the government could fully consider the actuation situation of the trucks and carefully listen to the opinions of enterprises when implementing and issuing related policies, standards and regulations, to make sure its scientific rationality. Mr. Ye Shengji pointed out that it was necessary for the government and enterprises to coordinate to tackle with the problems encountered in the development of the industry, especially in policy and regulation implementation. It is hoped that the government could earnestly listen to the demands of the industry and enterprises to make decisions in a scientific way based on multiple argumentation and research analysis to jointly push forward the sustainable development of the trucks.

  The meeting carried out discussions on issues of CV operation analysis, tonnage limitation in cities, utilization factor of payload, qualified model management, preparations on China 5 to China 6, development of remote monitoring platform, NEV credit, etc. and made several consensuses.

  The government officials exchanged views with participants present; and stressed that the government must think what the masses think to actively solve the difficulties to promote the healthy development of the industry in streamlining administration, delegating powers and improving regulation while providing better services.

  It is thought that through years of hard work, the C8 platform has gradually become the major advisor for the government in advancing the development of the commercial vehicles. Meanwhile, as key enterprises, the C8 members would do better in self-discipline to make a good example and great contributions to lead healthy, sustainable and high-quality development.

  Mr. Ye Shengji expressed that regarding to the concrete standards, CAAM would combine with the consensuses of this meeting to keep contacts with the related departments. At the same time, he wished that the C8 members could make persistent efforts to propose more and better advise to continue to do a good job for government departments and make greater efforts for industrial development.

  Mr. Fu Bingfeng made the summary at the end. He thanked the participation of the government leaders as well as sharing the latest information and offering suggestions. The support, participation and in-depth communication of the related government departments made the C8 summit positive significance to promote the healthy development of truck industry.
