Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Dong Yang met with Vice President of Corporate and Government Affairs of BMW

Dr. Thomas Becker, Vice President of Corporate and Government Affairs of BMW, paid a visit to CAAM on the afternoon of May 17, 2012. Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Dong Yang and Deputy Secretary General Mr. Li Wanli received the visitors and attend the meeting.

Firstly, Dr. Thomas Becker exchanged views with Mr. Dong Yang on the future strategy and development of electrical vehicles in China. Mr. Dong Yang stated that the application of electrical vehicles will get a strong promotion and gain popularity under the background of active policies of encouraging the development of energy-saving and new energy vehicles in China and high global oil price. He also pointed that the hybrid electrical vehicles involving start-stop and other technologies will first get popularity. Dr. Thomas Becker said BMW had always been the leader in HEV field and would always support the policies of Chinese government.

Secondly, both sides exchanged views regarding to the Stage III of the passenger vehicle fuel consumption regulation (hereafter referred as Stage III). Mr. Dong Yang indicated that the Stage III had profound meaning in guiding the development of China automotive industry. Dr. Thomas Becker said that as a well-known auto brand, BMW would like to bear the corresponding responsibility in energy-saving and reducing fuel consumption.

At last, Mr. Dong Yang hoped BMW and CAAM could further enhance the relations and have more communications on automotive industry policy and future development.
