Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General Dong Yang Attended OICA General Assembly in Turkey

On Nov. 1st to 3rd, 2012, the executive vice chairman Dong Yang went to Istanbul, Turkey to attend OICA General Assembly accompanied by the deputy secretary general Liu Xiaomiao and the business manager of International Cooperation Department Zhang Lin.
        As the only international organization and representative of global auto manufacturers, OICA is made up of by auto manufacturers all around the world with its members spreading over five continents. Now, the organization’s membership comprises 37 national trade associations around the world including all major automobile manufacturing countries, like America, Germany, Japan and South Korea. Each year, OICA will hold a Council meeting in March in Geneva and a General Assembly meeting in October or November in member countries.

OICA Council Meeting

The conference lasted two days. On Nov. 1st, the Selection Committee meeting and the Council meeting were held. On the Council meeting, the executive vice chairman Dong Yang reported the situation of China’s auto industry in the first half year of 2012 to all the representatives. He summarized that China’s auto industry had changed from a rapid growth into a sustainable and steady growth. Although the growth had been decelerated comparing with that in last decade, he still believed that China’s auto industry would keep growing in next five to ten years.

Dong Yang made speeches on OICA General Assembly

On Nov. 2nd, the executive vice chairman Dong Yang attended Istanbul Round Table and the General Assembly. The theme of this Round Table was “The Auto Industry within the next 10 years”. Dong Yang addressed a speech on Consumer Preferences in China and Public Policies’ Influences on Vehicle Consumption.
