2013 Annual Meeting of Automotive International Trade Coordination Committee Held in Beijing

Organized by CAAM, 2013 Annual Meeting of Automotive International Trade Coordination Committee was held in Beijing on January 30th to 31st. More than 40 representatives from over 30 enterprises (or agencies), including automobile manufacturers, auto parts enterprises and auto parts branches of CAAM, attended this meeting.

On behalf of the secretariat of automotive international trade coordination committee (hereinafter referred to as coordination committee), the director Mr. Xu Haidong summarized the main work of 2012 and introduced the third credit rating for automobile export enterprises. The representatives present discussed Proposal on Promoting Credit Certification and Implementing Incentive Policies (Discussion Paper). They agreed to submit this proposal to MOFCOM and SASAC after revision and improvement.

Besides, the secretariat analyzed the basic situation of Chinese automotive import and export in 2012 and introduced the progress of negotiation on CJKFTA (China-Japan-Korea Free Trade Area) as well as the working plan on trade policy review to other countries. The participants discussed some exchanges and negotiations that will be carried out in 2013. They expressed their support and affirmation to the committee for its establishment of the exchange and negotiation mechanism with other countries, especially with emerging economies, like BRIC countries. They also gave some suggestions and raised claims for such issue.

Since the trade conflicts occurred frequently in auto industry, the meeting specially invited Ms. Zhu Xiaojuan, the Director of the Bureau of Industry Injury Investigation of MOFCOM, to give an introduction about the current situation of industrial security in our country and its countermeasures.
