Deputy Secretary General Mr. Shi Jianhua Went to Indonesia to Attend the 18th APEC Automotive Dialogue

On April 23rd to 26th, 2013, the 18th APEC Automotive Dialogue (hereinafter referred to as AD) was held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. A group of people attended this meeting, including the Deputy Secretary General of CAAM Mr. Shi Jianhua, the Vice Director of MIIT Ms. She Weizhen and the Director of MIIT Mr. Yu Yongbo.

Chinese Delegation in AD

Besides, there were over a hundred representatives from thirteen economic entities participating in this meeting. They were participants from Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Russia, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, America, Vietnam and India.
        According to the former convention, the day before the general meeting would open to all the representatives to carry out bilateral talks. During the talks, Chinese delegation introduced the program entitled “Research on Integration of Plug-in Vehicles, Power Grid and Transport System” which would be submitted to the Trade Committee. Both American and Australian delegation expressed their willingness to cooperate with China to further advance the work of this program.

Meeting Site

On April 24th, the general meeting was held. Participants in the meeting heard and reviewed the agenda, the financial report and some latest information of APEC as well as studied those special working reports.
        In addition, Chinese delegation also delivered speeches on the following issues:
        1.Brief introduction of the construction of China-South Korea FTA and China-Japan-South Korea FTA
        2.Introduction of the establishment of Chinese electric vehicles standard and the participation in international standard setting
        3.Development of small and medium-sized enterprises in China
        4.Standard and construction of the infrastructure of electric vehicles
        5.Development of new energy vehicles in China
        6.Development of Chinese auto market in 2012 and the first quarter of 2013
        7.Calculation Method of Average Fuel Consumption for Passenger Cars issued by China
        8.Construction of Chinese vehicle-mounted information system
        Many sectors of automotive industry had been involved in this meeting. Under the support and participation of all sides, Chinese delegation completed the visit successfully. In a word, this meeting had made fruitful achievements in equal negotiation, promoting communication and expanding consensus.
