On the afternoon of Nov. 14th, 2013, the Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Dong Yang and the Deputy Secretary General Mr. Shi Jianhua met with the guests from BMW Group. They were the President and CEO of BMW Group China Region Mr. Karsten Engel, the Vice President of Enterprise Publicity and Government Affairs Ms. Wu Yanyan and the Senior Manager of Government Affairs Mr. Zhang Yun.

Both sides made communications and exchanged views on issues of the challenges of new energy vehicles, the development of foreign brand new energy vehicles, joint ventures developing Chinese brand and the prospect of Chinese auto market and luxury cars. Mr. Dong Yang said that battery electric vehicles in China were still in pilot phase due to immature technologies. Its development still relied on government subsidies. Therefore, it was very difficult for battery electric vehicles to have a rapid development for the moment. But for hybrid vehicles, it would be the trend.
        Mr. Karsten Engel expressed his sincere thanks for the reception and his willingness to participate in various activities organized by CAAM, so as to jointly promote the sound development of Chinese auto industry.
