2014 China Auto Forum, the focus of the world’s attention will be held in Beijing on April 21st and 22nd, 2014. The theme of this year’s forum is “Automotive Industry of China and the World under New Economic Transition——Trend, Challenge & Strategy”. China Auto Forum is a top and high-end auto forum in China, held by CAAM (China Association of Automobile Manufacturers), supported by OICA (International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers) and solely participated by World Economic Forum (Davos). It is held every April in the course of Beijing (or Shanghai) International Automobile Industry Exhibition. Its aim is to forge a top-class platform for discussion on industrial development, as well as communication and dialogue between China and the world auto industries, between Chinese government and all sectors of automotive industry and between the auto industry and other sectors of the society. Thanks to success of 2011, 2012 and 2013 forums, China Auto Forum has developed into the “Davos” Forum in China auto industry, and the most important platform gathering world auto leaders, domestic and foreign elites and senior government officials to exchange and communicate, with the characteristics of “high-end orientation, down-to-earth spirit and effectiveness”.
2014 China Auto Forum will definitely be a top auto forum with grander scale and broader influence. Like the forum held last year, OICA and World Economic Forum will participate in this great occasion again. Except that, APEC Auto Dialogue, the most influential organization in Asia-Pacific, will also join us this year. Under such a crucial time when Chinese economy is going through adjustment and transformation, this year’s forum will undoubtedly have a significant and profound impact on auto industry of China and the world.
After international financial crisis, the world economy is beginning to recover, but its process is complex and volatile. For the development of Chinese economy, the year of 2014 will be a new historical starting point as its industrial structure needs adjusting comprehensively. In such situation, China auto industry, after sustained development, will march into an important period of adjustment and transformation. As auto production and sales volume of China ranks the first in the world, the adjustment and transformation of China auto industry will not only influence China’s auto industry and its relevant industries, but also have a significant impact on the world auto industry. Under the new round of technological revolution and industrial change of the world, China auto industry will further integrate with world auto industry. As a result, seeking ways to remold and revive the auto industry has become the theme of auto industries of China and the world.
The forum of this year is composed of 3 major parts, the Closed-Door Summit, Main Forum and Seminars. In this forum, we will hold in-depth discussion on new strategies, ways and hopes for auto industry development in China and the world, look ahead into the future of China and the world auto industries, and explore direction for harmonious development of the auto industry and the society under new economic transition. Moreover, a series of hotspots and focus subjects in the automotive field will be highlighted. Also we will try our best to find solutions. In this way, we are going to make this forum the most attractive top-level auto forum. It can be predicted that this forum will have a proactive and profound influence on sustainable development of China and the world auto industries, as well as the construction of auto society in China.
