On April 20th, 2014 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2014) was opened at new Beijing China International Exhibition Center, themed with “Driving to a Better Future”. On April 22nd, Mr. Miao Wei, Minister of MIIT, visited Auto China 2014, accompanied by the Deputy Secretary General of CAAM Mr. Shi Jianhua.
        During the two-hour visit, Mr. Miao Wei mainly visited stands of domestic auto manufacturers, including DFM, FAW, Geely, JAC, Great Wall, Chang’an, Chery, BAIC, GAC, etc. to have a look at their sales of Chinese brand. He encouraged them to catch the opportunity of government procurement to achieve breakthrough in sales.
        New energy vehicle has become the development direction for Chinese automotive industry. During the visit, Mr. Miao Wei specially focused on development of Chinese brand new energy vehicles. He encouraged those enterprises to make use of pilot cities to develop new energy vehicles.
