Special Meeting on Strictly Implementing CHINA IV Emission Standard on Heavy Duty Diesel Vehicles

On May 11th and 16th, CCTV exposed the phenomenon existed in some domestic truck enterprises that sold products could not meet the current emission standard. Once exposed, CAAM immediately organized C8 members to hold a special meeting. Leaders from Industrial Department of MIIT were invited to participate in.
        On the meeting, the government leaders requested enterprises to rectify strictly to problems exposed by media. Those representatives introduced each company’s situation and expressed they would take some crucial measures to prevent any illegal behaviour. Besides, they will cooperate with any government investigation to rectify existing problems to ensure the product consistency.
        To better push forward the implementation of emission standards and strengthen product consistency, the C8 enterprises reached a self-discipline commitment. They promised to obey national standards and regulations to produce qualified products. They would not take non-classical technical routes to affect supervision. Nor did sell fake-licensed vehicles. The healthy development of automotive industry could not realize without joint efforts of auto enterprises, strict supervision of government departments as well as supervision of media and the society. CAAM were willing to cooperate with media to do a good job in industrial supervision,so as to make the industrial development in a healthy and orderly way.
