Since 2013, a wide range and long time heavy haze swept most of the cities across the country. The severe air pollution affected people’s travel and health. Hence, the media and the society paid close attention to it. That September, the State Council issued Action Plan on Air Pollution Prevention. This year’s government working report already put ecological civilization construction as a key mission. The government made it clear that would fully supply CHINA IV standard diesel on January 1st, 2015.
On May 11th and 16th, CCTV reported some domestic truck enterprises sold products could not meet the current emission standard, which aroused strong repercussions inside and outside the industry.
As domestic major truck manufacturers, C8 members actively advanced the upgrading of emission standard on heavy duty diesel vehicles. They agreed to take measures to strengthen management and prevent any unfair competitive actions. Under the guidance of CAAM, the C8 members signed self-discipline commitment.
1. Make use of electronic control fuel supply system to design, produce and sell heavy duty diesel vehicles that meet CHINA IV standard instead of non-classical technical route
2. Ensure qualified production and selling to eliminate fake-licensed vehicles
3. Actively cooperate with any government investigation to ensure production consistency
4. Strengthen self-discipline protect truck industry’s reputations
5. Accept and cooperate with any government supervision
6. Strengthen mutual supervision. For violation enterprise, written inspections firstly. If violate again, cancel its membership
7. The commitment shall come into force on the date of signing
