On May 20th, 2014, the subject launching meeting on Auto Parts Development Strategy and Planning Research was held in Beijing. The meeting was supported and guided by MIIT, DRC, NDRC Industrial and other related governmental departments and agencies. Over 30 experts and representatives from major auto manufacturers, auto parts enterprises, branches and industrial agencies attended this meeting.
        The meeting was hosted by the Deputy Secretary General of CAAM Mr. Ye Shengji.

He pointed out that due to lack of development strategies and plannings, the auto parts industry had become weak link of Chinese automotive industry, hence, restricting the construction of auto power. Therefore, it was necessary and urgent to launch such subject. The research achievements would be a part and parcel of the “13th Five-Year Plan” as well as a strong support for auto power strategy plan.

Entrusted by the subject group, the Vice President of CAERI Mr. Zhou Zhou explained the research proposal. All the representatives carried out deep discussion on framework, research approaches and other related issues as well as gave some good suggestions.

At the end, Mr. Ye Shengji made the summary. On behalf of CAAM and Mr. Dong Yang (Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CAAM), he thanked those representatives for their strong support. He believed that the subject would achieve the expected result to become the key support for auto power strategy plan under the guidance of competent authorities and joint efforts of each participant.
