Jointly organized by CAAM, TVMA and ARTC, and co-organized by Jiangling Motors Co., Ltd, 2014 Cross-Strait Conference on Auto Industrial Cooperation and Communication was held in Nanchang on Sep 23rd to 24th.

There were altogether more than 150 participants attending this conference, including some mainland Chinese companies like SAIC Volkswagen, GAC, Jiangsu Aoxin New Energy Vehicle, Zhengzhou Yutong, and auto companies and agencies from Taiwan like TVMA and ARTC, as well as representatives R&D institutes, industrial organizations and government. The Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CAAM Mr. Dong Yang and the Consultant of Department of Industry of NDRC, Mr. Wu Wei participated in. The conference was hosted by the Deputy Secretary General of CAAM Mr. Shi Jianhua.

The conference had been held for five successive years. From the very beginning, it was planed and organized with the view of serving for cross-strait auto industries, such as building an open, authoritative and influential communication platform, deepening cross-strait cooperation, discussing hot and common issues and seeking cooperative opportunities, so as to realize the joint development of the auto industries both in Mainland and Taiwan. Under the active participation of government agencies, industrial associations and relevant enterprises as well as various forms of exchanges, the past five years had achieved remarkable and fruitful achievements, thus pushing forward the cooperation and development of cross-strait auto industries.

During the meeting, Mr. Dong Yang introduced the overall situation of new energy vehicles, concerning development objectives, related policies, facing challenges, popularization and application as well as future expectations. Later, a speech entitled on “Layout of Ford in Taiwan and Mainland” was addressed by the Deputy Director of Ford Asia-Pacific Mr. Zhuang Taixu. Then, the President of JMC Mr. Chen Yuanqing delivered a speech concerning the development of Mainland auto industry, industrial policies and the status of JMC.

Advocating the former pattern, the conference was divided into business cooperation group and electric cars group.
