Organized by CAAM and China Auto CAIEC Ltd, co-organized by Auto Review and the Organizing Committee of China International SME Fair Auto Parts Pavilion, the 1st “Auto Parts OEM Purchasing Trend Seminar” was held in Guangzhou on Oct. 11th. Over a hundred representatives attended this meeting, including related officials of MIIT, industrial experts, auto manufacturers and auto parts suppliers, like DFM, GAC, Chery, Beijing Benz, etc. Issues concerning development of Chinese auto parts suppliers, supporting for OEMs and future supporting trends had been discussed.
Deputy Secretary General of CAAM Mr. Ye Shengji
On his opening remarks, the Deputy Secretary General of CAAM Mr. Ye Shengji pointed out that with the rapid development of Chinese auto market and the continuous expanding scale, Chinese automotive industry had become the biggest cake in world auto field. However, the bigger the cake became the smaller Chinese parts suppliers could share. For those suppliers, they even faced the risk to be marginalized. How to develop Chinese auto parts enterprises had been already an inevitable and grim fact for the whole industry.
He thought that for supporting, after-sale and export, supporting was the core. Therefore, a parts company had to try to enter the supporting system if they wanted bigger and stronger. Based on this, he suggested the parts enterprises could increase alliance mode of industry, academy and research institution to help them realize cooperation and achieve win-win result between upstream-downstream industries. Meanwhile, he hoped those parts enterprises could change their way of development to accelerate industrial transformation and upgrading and enhance core competitiveness.
Chief of Department of Small and Medium-sized Enterprise of MIIT Ms. Wei Xiangqun
The industrial development could not realize without policy support. On the meeting, the Chief of Department of Small and Medium-sized Enterprise of MIIT Ms. Wei Xiangqun introduced some recent implemented policies and regulations to promote the development of small and medium-sized enterprises.
The whole seminar was divided into two halves. The first part was hosted by the Party Secretary of China Auto CAIEC Ltd Mr. Chen Weinong. Some related OEM leaders attended this part, like GAC, DFM and Chery, to carry out communications on different purchasing characteristics among European, American, Japanese, Korean and Chinese brand. They also focused on how to improve development of Chinese suppliers and building communicating platform between suppliers and OEMs.
