CAAM and MEDC Signed the MOU

To further improve communication and cooperation of Sino-US auto industry and to achieve win-win results through complementary advantages, China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) and Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) held MOU signing ceremony on Nov. 21st. Under the joint witness of Mr. Shi Jianhua, Deputy Secretary General of CAAM and Mr. Rich Snyder, Michigan State Governor, the Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CAAM Mr. Dong Yang and the Senior Vice President and Director of Automotive Industry Office of MEDC Mr. Kevin Kerrigan, on behalf of two parties, signed on the MOU.

On the signing ceremony, Mr. Dong Yang and Mr. Rich Snyder delivered a speech respectively. They both expressed the willingness to carry out in-depth communication and cooperation.

Michigan is the center of US automotive industry. The three famous auto manufacturers GM, Chrysler and Ford settled in here as early as the beginning of the 20th century. This area contributed 23% of total production. Moreover, its high-tech industry ranked the fourth throughout the United States, hence creating many related jobs and possessing lots of technical personnel, 15% of non-agricultural employees in this area.
        According to the contents of the MOU, CAAM and MEDC would build mechanisms that enable the high management of the two parties to communicate and visit each other; encourage bilateral cooperation on capital, trade and technology; co-organize events between Sino-US auto industry experts from government, associations and companies and explore the mechanism of regular information exchange. This signing marked the cooperation between the two parties entered into a new level.
