On Jan. 23rd, the Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Dong Yang and the Deputy Secretary General Mr. Shi Jianhua met with guests from European Commission Enterprise and Industry Trade Section. They were Head of Sustainable Mobility and Automotive Industry Mr. Philippe Jean, Policy Officer Ms. Alexandra Sa Carvalho and Minister Counsellor Mr. Jean-Marie Avezou.

The visit of European Commission was aiming at strengthening contacts with auto-related government departments and CAAM.
        Firstly, Mr. Philippe Jean informed the latest reform of UN WP29 and revision of 58 Agreement. He also introduced the current participation of Asian and European countries in WP29 meetings.
        Mr. Dong Yang said CAAM would keep an eye on the revision of 58 Agreement and were willing to strengthen technical communication with European Commission.
        In addition, both sides exchanged views on the development of Chinese automotive industry and expressed willingness of regular communication and cooperation.
        The Director of International Cooperation Department Mr. Chen Yuanzhi, the Director of Industry Development Department Mr. Li Shaohua and International Cooperation Department Ms. Chang Xiaoyan, Ms. Liu Zheng accompanied to attend the meeting.
