On Jan. 21st, organized by CAAM, the summit on popularizing Beidou system in Chinese automotive industry was held in Beijing. The Academician and Scientist of atomic and hydrogen bombs and man-made satellite Mr. Sun Jiadong, the Chief Economist of MIIT Mr. Zhou Zixue, the Chief Engineer of Beidou Mr. Ma Jiaqing and the Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CAAM Mr. Dong Yang attended the summit. Over 50 representatives from OEMs, communication industry, IT companies and members of CAAM Information Service Committee participated in as well. The summit was hosted by the Deputy Secretary General of CAAM Mr. Ye Shengji.

Mr. Dong Yang delivered a speech

In his speech, Mr. Dong Yang pointed out that the popularization and application of Beidou system was a crucial part to realize Chinese dream and achieve national prosperity and rejuvenation as well as people’s well-being. The application of Beidou system on automobiles would lead Chinese auto mobile into a new path and would be an important strategic way to build China into an auto power. Hence, CAAM would take efforts to push forward the popularization of Beidou system.

Mr. Zhou Zixue delivered a speech

Mr. Zhou Zixue emphasized the significant socioeconomic value of Beidou system. Since starting providing regional service over two years ago, Beidou system has achieved great breakthroughs and made progress. Considering that automobiles has become vital mobile ends, it would be not only benefit for the development of Chinese brand but also the level of intelligent transportation to accelerate the establishment of information service system based on Beidou system and to promote the integration of various information and automotive industry. MIIT would speed up the policy implementation on connected vehicles and offer support to the application of industrialization of Beidou system.

Mr. Ma Jiaqing delivered a speech

Mr. Ma Jiaqing expressed that Beidou system was operating steadily, of which some performance indicators even achieved improvements since the start of regional services. Now, the major indicators of the domestic chip applied in Beidou have been closed to the international level.
        The Deputy Chief of Electronic Department of MIIT Mr. Peng Hongbing delivered a speech entitled on “Mobile Internet Promoting Application of Beidou System in Automotive Industry”.
        The Vice Director General of China Connected Vehicle Promoting Alliance Mr. Peng Chao gave a speech on “Taking the Opportunity of Popularization of Beidou to Promote Auto-Internet Development”. He introduced the status of Chinese automotive industry and the situation of Internet application on automobiles as well as offered some suggestions on application of Beidou.
        Besides, the General Manager of CEC Information Service Company Mr. Song Jian delivered a speech on “Solution on Application of Beidou in Automotive Industry” to provide advice on technical routes.

Mr. Ye Shengji hosted the summit and released initiative

On behalf of CAAM, Mr. Ye Shengji released Initiative on Popularization and Application of Beidou in Chinese Automotive Industry to call on the whole industrial chain to take actions.
        The Executive Director General of CAAM Information Service Committee Mr. Wang Dawei delivered a report on “Action Plan on Popularization and Application of Beidou in Automotive Industry” to fully analyze the process of Beidou system and posed concrete action plans.
        In addition, some enterprise representatives posed suggestions and expressed that they would support the action plans.

Mr. Sun Jiadong made a summary

At the end, Mr. Sun Jiadong made a summary. He emphasized that Beidou system was the national-strategic-level infrastructure to ensure national safety and rejuvenation. Therefore, each one should work together to push forward the application of Beidou system.
