Organized by CAAM, the symposium on automotive representatives of the 2015 two sessions was held in China Hall of Science and Technology on Mar. 10th. Mr. Wan Gang (Vice Chairman of CPPCC and Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology), Mr. Chen Qingtai (Director General of China EV 100), and Mr. Wang Ruixiang (Chairman of China Machinery Industry Federation) attended the symposium. Nearly a hundred participants including automotive representatives of the two sessions, CPPCC members, government officials, leaders of automotive-related enterprises and the media attended the symposium.
The symposium was hosted by the Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CAAM Mr. Dong Yang. He firstly reported the situation of the automotive industry in 2014, the development trends of 2015 and the progress of new energy vehicles as well as ideas on technological special program. He pointed that under the new economic normal, the automotive industry faced big economic downward pressure, followed by the severe challenges on quality, environmental protection, safety and supervision. Meanwhile, we could see opportunities like rigid demand, smart manufacturing, development of logistics and emerging of new energy vehicles. Under such background, Chinese automotive industry should constantly strengthen product development, basic research, brand building and management improvement to achieve new breakthroughs on new energy vehicles and smart manufacturing, so as to further push forward the sound and sustainable development.
Mr. Wan Gang affirmed the communicating function of this symposium. He pointed out that Mr. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, had identified the development of new energy vehicles was the only way leading to auto power. Hence, the government of each level and the industry attached great importance. Under the incentives of central finance, the demonstration and popularization of new energy vehicles in our country realized a rapid growth, which was also the joint effort among CAAM, SAE-China, enterprises and all sectors of society. Besides, he emphasized that the following aspects should be paid attention to accelerate the development of new energy vehicles. Firstly, we should strengthen basic and common technological research to establish a common researching platform. Secondly, new business model must be set up and popularized. Time-sharing lease could be advocated to meet the needs after reforms on public-used vehicles. Thirdly, we should pay close attention to the development of smart technologies. Fourthly, we should accelerate the R&D and application of fuel cell vehicles as it will be the strategic direction to develop new energy vehicles and its international industrialization level was far beyond our expectation. Finally, Mr. Wan Gang wished all sectors could make concerted efforts to accelerate the technological and industrial development of new energy vehicles.
Besides, several representatives expressed their views on issues concerning on charging facilities, electric vehicles, fuel cell vehicles, auto export, power battery, low-speed vehicles, key parts, etc.
