The 1st Overseas Regional Alliance for Chinese Automotive Industry-South Africa Alliance Set Up

To enhance the overseas expansion capability, promote integral development and expand foreign influences, CAAM organized the 1st Chinese Automotive Industry South Africa Forum. On the forum, CAAM united the key exporting enterprises to set up the 1st overseas regional alliance for Chinese automotive industry----South Africa Alliance.

On Nov. 23rd to 24th, the 1st Chinese Automotive Industry South Africa Forum was held in Johannesburg, which was organized by CAAM and co-organized by BAIC INTL and BAIC SA Investment. The forum attracted more than 30 representatives from over 10 enterprises to participate in.
        The representatives focused on the opportunities and challenges for Chinese automotive industry in South Africa. They also carried out deep discussions on issues of auto financial service platform and overseas information sharing.

Mr. Shi Jianhua, Deputy Secretary General of CAAM, hosted the forum and delivered open remarks

The representatives from seven enterprises, including BAIC SA Investment, signed the charter of the Alliance to jointly set up Chinese Automotive Industry South Africa Alliance. They agreed to obey the charter to cooperate and coordinate to avoid vicious competition. The Deputy Secretary General of CAAM Mr. Shi Jianhua, together with those representatives, witnessed the establishment of the Alliance.

South Africa Alliance is a social organization formed based on the principle of equality and voluntariness, which consisting of Chinese enterprises and institutions as well as organizations engaged in production and management of automobiles, motorcycles, parts and auto-related industries founded within South Africa. The Alliance is affiliated with CAAM International Trade Coordination Committee and focused on platform building to promote mutual benefits and resources sharing among members and enhance Chinese auto image in South Africa as well.
        The representatives fully affirmed the forum and placed high hopes on the Alliance. They looked forward the Alliance could play a significant role in overseas development, especially in South Africa.
        To carry out work more efficiently, on Nov. 25th, Mr. Shi Jianhua and his party visited NAAMSA. Mr. Nico Vermeulen introduced the situation of auto market in South Africa and wished Chinese enterprises could catch the opportunity to gain further advancement based on the development plan APDP. The both sides reached a preliminary intention on data exchange.

The establishment of South Africa Alliance would exert a profound influence for the development of Chinese automotive industry in South Africa. Meanwhile, the Alliance would provide a successful experience to set up overseas alliance in other regions.
