On February 2nd, to reminder the outstanding founder of China automotive industry Mr. Guo Li, the 100th Anniversary of the Birth Mr. Guo Li conversationwas held in Beijing. The original Permanent member of the political bureau of the CPC central committee and vice premier Mr. li lanqing, former member of the political bureau of the CPC central committee, and vice-chairman of the standing committee of the 11th National People's Congress Mr. Wang zhaoguo etc., as well as the original machinery industry, part of the old leadership, FAW, Dongfeng old leadership and current head, machinery, auto industry group representatives, and Mr. Guo Li's family, etc. A total of more than 70 people attended the conversation.

Meeting site

Mr. Guo Li formerly known as Mr. Gao Chongyue, he was born in Langfang of Hebei province in February 1916. In April 1950, he was the director of the third constitute committee, then he was appointed as the first factory manager of FAW, under his guide to completed the basic construction of FAW, so as to the China auto industry pioneer. In August 1964, Mr. Guo Li to establish China Auto Industry Company, and he had created a report. He was officially named as the first machinery industry department vice minister and China automotive industry corporation general manager in January 1965.On February 20th, 1976, Mr. Guo Li due to illness, died at the age of 60.

The conversation was organized by CAAM, for the commemoration of Mr. Guoli, Mr. li lanqing wrote a commemorative article entitled "Pay Our Country Automotive Industry Outstanding Founder Mr. Guo Li", reviewed all the extraordinary life experiences and "dedicated, virtuous personality."Before the official start of the discussion, Mr. Li Lanqing and Mr. Wang Zhaoguo together unveiled for Mr. Guo Li’s statue.

In the end of the conversation, Mr. Li Lanqing firstly conveyed Mr. Jiang Zemin for the commemoration of concern and deep memory of Mr. Guoli, and said that Mr. Guoli is our role model, he hope we seriously should learn from him.
        Mr. Li Lanqing said, after generations of their efforts, China has become a major auto industry country, but still has distance of auto developed countries, therefore, we should inherit and learn represented by Mr. Rao Bin and Mr. Guo LI etc, the older generation of their entrepreneurial spirit. We should fully develop new energy vehicles, to control air pollution and accelerate auto industry structure adjustment, early realization of auto power country in the near future.
