2016 China Auto Forum, themed with “Innovation, Green and Sharing----Open a New Development Stage in China Automotive Industry” was held in Beijing on April 25th to 27th. China Auto Forum is a top and high-end auto forum in China, organized by CAAM (China Association of Automobile Manufacturers), supported by OICA (International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers) and fully participated by World Economic Forum (Davos).
Thanks to the growing influence brought by the five successful forums since 2011, China Auto Forum has developed into the truly “Davos” in China automotive industry, and the most important platform gathering world auto leaders, domestic and foreign elites and related government officials to exchange and communicate, with the characteristics of “high-end orientation, down-to-earth spirit and effectiveness”.

As the most influential forum in China Automotive Industry, 2016 China Auto Forum had become the wind vane to guide future direction of industrial development. On the forum, Mr. Wan Gang, the Vice Chairman of CPPCC and Minister of MOST delivered a speech concerning the trends of China automotive industry. He pointed out the direction of China automotive industry, especially the direction of new energy vehicles under the new stage. Mr. Miao Wei, the Minister of MIIT and Mr. Xin Guobin, the Vice Minister of MIIT delivered wonderful speeches as well. Besides, the auto-related government officials from MIIT, NDRC, SCOPSR, the State Council, MEP and MOFCOM also attended the forum.

As an important platform, 2016 China Auto Forum attracted senior leaders of foreign automotive associations and industrial representatives. 2016 China Auto Forum unprecedentedly attracted more than 1500 representatives.
China’s current economy has turned to medium and high speed development from rapid development, and China auto industry has entered the significant transformation period. 2016 is the beginning year of the ‘Thirteenth Five-Year Plan’ for national economy. The auto industry will face more stringent conditions in energy, environment and traffic, while new energy vehicles and Internet+ will produce a profound influence on China auto industry. The implementation of ‘Made in China 2025’ will bring unprecedented opportunities to auto industry. In addition, the government will introduce new management policies on auto industry intensively. Therefore, China auto industry will enter a new development stage in 2016. This year’s forum was composed of three major parts, the Closed-Door Summit, Main Forum and Theme Forums. During the forum, themed with “Innovation, Green and Sharing”, participants focused on the latest technology trend, the industrial development strategy, the open innovation path, the balanced development of China and the world auto industry as well as the coordination between auto industry, national economy and people's livelihood.
Hosted by the Executive Vice Chairman of CAAM Mr. Dong Yang, the Closed-Door Summit of 2016 China Auto Forum was held on the afternoon of April 25th. Mr. Miao Wei, the Minister of MIIT, delivered a speech on industrial development. Altogether 120 senior leaders were invited, including leaders of major auto manufacturers both at home and abroad, heads of auto-related agencies and some related government officials.
On the morning of April 26th, the Main Forum of 2016 China Auto Forum was held. Mr. Wan Gang, the Vice Chairman of CPPCC and Minister of MOST, delivered a speech concerning development trends of new energy vehicles. Mr. Xin Guobin, the Vice Minister of MIIT, delivered a speech on industrial development. After a series of keynote speeches, the interaction sector also brought us valuable experience. The Main Forum was hosted by the Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CAAM Mr. Wu Shaoming.

On the afternoon of April 26th and the morning of April 27th, twelve theme forums were held, which were “Development Plan and Product Strategy of Auto Industry”, “New Heights, New Challenges and New Thoughts of Chinese Brands”, “Auto Industry Under the Challenge of Environmental Protection”, “Deep Influential Factors for Auto Industry”, “Innovation in Automobile Sales Model”, “Latest Development Trend and Future Prospect of Automotive Technology”, “Internet and Intelligent Manufacturing”, “Car-sharing Model in the Age of Big Data”, “Auto Parts Procurement Trend and Innovation Development for Enterprises”, “Coping Measures of Enterprises under New Laws and Regulations on Fuel Consumption”, “Development and Financial Innovation of Auto Industry” and “Development Bottleneck and Solution of Electric Vehicles”.
This year, based on the traditional theme forums, 2016 China Auto Forum added two special sessions: “Special Sessions for Chinese and British Automobiles” and “Automobile Salon How Chinese Automobile Enterprises Enter the North American Market”.
