On June 15 to 17, the Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CAAM Mr. Wu Shaoming led to investigate some enterprises in Chongqing, which were Changan Ford, Changan Automobile, Zongshen Industrial Group, Chongqing Lifan Holdings and CAERI, accompanied by the Secretary Assistant Mr. Huo Yumin, the Chief Expert Mr. Pan Xufeng, the Director of Member Services Department Ms. Li Guixin and the Member Services Department Ms. Qi Minjing.
        During the visit in Changan Ford, Mr. Wu Shaoming firstly explained the purpose of the visit. He pointed out that after the setting up of the 8th Council, CAAM Secretariat started visiting member units to obtain first-hand information and demands to upgrade member services, based on the principle of “punctual services”. Meanwhile, CAAM wished to spread out the advanced experience of each enterprise to achieve experience and information sharing through investigation.

On the symposium, Mr. Wu Shaoming fully affirmed the role of joint ventures. He thought that without joint venture and cooperation, Chinese automotive industry could not develop into the world largest producer and consumer; also without opening-up and cooperation, Chinese brand could not become what it is today. The joint venture and cooperation played an active role for the development of Chinese automobiles in talent cultivation, capital investment, parts development and research and development. Meanwhile, in regard to the current situation, he expressed that the new-round joint venture and cooperation should be done well as developing Chinese brands. To do so, he thought that two aspects should be paid attention by joint ventures: firstly strengthening self R&D capacity and depth; secondly actively expanding overseas market to achieve products export.

On the symposium, the both sides exchanged view on issues concerning retail data collecting and sharing, incentive policies on new energy trucks, credit trade system on new energy vehicles and oil consumption regulations and administrative methods.

Some leaders of Changan Automobile attended the symposium, which were the Vice President Yuan Mingxue, the Deputy Chief of Strategic Planning Department Liu Qinghong, the Vice General Manager of New Energy Vehicles Zhou Anjian and the Director of Research and Development Center Li Hongyao.
        During the visit in Zongshen, the delegation visited exhibition hall, engine plant, motorcycle assembly and newly-founded R&D center.

On the symposium, the General Manager of Zongshen Motorcycle Mr. Liu Gang reflected the tough situation of the motorcycle industry. On one hand, due to the ever-increasing motorcycle-taboo cities, the sales and production dramatically decreased as well as the corporate profits and technical investment. On the other hand, the fierce competition of international market caused the severe decline on motorcycle export.
        In regard to this situation, Mr. Wu Shaoming expressed that the motorcycle enterprises need find new market positioning to bring their superiority into full play. Otherwise, the problem could not be solved.
        The President Assistant of Zongshen Gao Min, the General Manager of Zongshen Motorcycle Liu Gang, the Director of Technology Center Lei Ting and the Director Chen Gang attended the symposium.
        During the visit in Lifan, the delegation watched the video and listened the relevant introduction.

In regard to the status of Lifan, Mr. Wu Shaoming pointed out that Lifan should attach importance to research and development of self-owned brand and product quality. Meanwhile, it was necessary to analyze the market and find proper position, so that to make the products more competitive.
        Besides, the delegation visited Lifan exhibition hall, plants, new energy vehicle plant and had a test drive.
        The Vice President of Lifan Dong Xu, the Deputy Chief of Automotive Research Institute Bai Yubin, the Director of New Energy Vehicle R&D Center Sun Chunming and the Chief of Overseas Business Department Xie Jiexia attended the symposium.
        In addition, Mr. Wu Shaoming and Mr. Huo Yumin visited the key laboratories of CAERI and exchanged views with the leaders of CAERI.
