On July 11th, FAW Group’s commercial vehicle arm, FAW Jiefang, inked a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Tencent Cloud Computing (Beijing) Co., Ltd. for automotive information security.  

The cooperation will allow both parties to give full play to their advantages in their respective fields and join forces to build basic capability in auto information security, product R&D technology, test, and validation technology, and emerging technology research. 

Standing atop FAW Jiefang’s comprehensive R&D system and colossal commercial vehicle market, leveraging Tencent’s leading expertise in information security, the duo aims to realize development and production in the automotive security field. 

Specifically, the partners plan to create a new-generation secure commercial vehicle that improves user experience as well as promotes the industry’s development.

The Tencent Security Keen Lab has achieved global-competitive research results in the V2X field for Tesla, BMW, and Toyota. The team has provided security solutions and expert service for connected vehicles for over 20 automakers.
