On Nov. 12, XPeng posted on its WeChat account a teaser photo of an all-new model that will be unveiled at the upcoming Auto Guangzhou 2021.
The startup revealed the new model will be named with a prefix “G”, which is routinely used for XPeng's SUV lineup. Silhouette of the teaser photo also shows this is a SUV.
It was rumored that the mysterious model is likely to be dubbed “G7” or “G9”, while the final answer has not been announced yet until the opening day of the motor show.
According to some local media outlets, the yet-to-be-unveiled model will be built on the same platform as that of the P7. It will be equipped with the XPILOT 4.0 advanced driver assistance system, LiDAR devices, smart chassis and air suspension.
Dimension of the new model still remains unknown. Length of the wheelbase will stand between 2,800mm and 3,100mm, the range supported by the platform on which the P7 is based.
Reportedly, the new model may be priced higher than the XPeng P7's general version, while lower than the P7 Wing Limited edition. After hitting the market, it will vie with the likes of the Li ONE and the NIO ES6.
