The market share of Chinese brand passenger cars increased

In April, the total sales of Chinese brand passenger cars reached 686,400 units, up 14.3% year on year. The market share increased 3.8 percentage points than the previous year. To be specific, the sales of Chinese brand cars were 196,100 units, down -14.8% year on year, with a decrease of 1.3 percentage points on market share. On the contrary, the sales of Chinese brand SUV and MPV both enjoyed growth in sales volume and market share. The sales reached 238,000 units and 144,100 units respectively, up 91.2% and 24.3% year on year. Their market shares increased 11.5 percentage points and 1.5 percentage points.
        As for the first fourth months, the accumulated sales of Chinese brand passenger cars reached 2,979,700 units, up 19.5% year on year. The market share increased 4.2 percentage points than the previous year. To be specific, the sales of Chinese brand cars were 906,500 units, down 5% year on year, with a decrease of 0.6 percentage points on market share. On the contrary, the sales of Chinese brand SUV and MPV both enjoyed growth in sales volume and market share. The sales reached 966,800units and 671,900units respectively, up 103.9% and 24.7% year on year. Their market shares increased 14.9 percentage points and 3.4 percentage points.
