In September, the total sales of Chinese brand passenger cars reached 698,600 units, up 6.9% year on year, accounting for 39.9% of the total sales of passenger cars. The market share increased 1.4 percentage points than the previous year. To be specific, the sales of Chinese brand cars were 189,600 units, down 17.2% year on year, accounting for 19.9% of the total sales of cars, with a decrease of 1.5 percentage points on market share. The sales of Chinese brand SUV were 294,800 units, up 68% year on year, accounting for 52% of the total sales of SUV. The market share increased 2.9 percentage points than the previous year. While the sales of Chinese brand MPV reached 142,400 units, down 1.8% year on year, accounting for 88.3% of the total sales of MPV, with an increase of 2 percentage points on market share.
As for the first nine months, the accumulated sales of Chinese brand passenger cars reached 5,950,300 units, up 11.7% year on year. The market share increased 3.3 percentage points than the previous year, reaching 40.9%. To be specific, the sales of Chinese brand cars were 1,703,500 units, down 12.9% year on year, with a decrease of 1 percentage points on market share, reaching 20.8%. On the contrary, the sales of Chinese brand SUV and MPV both enjoyed growth in sales volume and market share. The sales reached 2,154,300 units and 1,247,600 units respectively, up 82% and 11.4% year on year. Their market shares increased 10.2 percentage points and 2.5 percentage points, reaching 52.8% and 87.7% respectively.
