In April, the sales and production of automobiles witnessed decline than that of last month. Comparing with the same period of last year, the sales and production continued to increase slightly, generally in a fairly good situation.
        This month, the production and sales of automobiles in China reached 2,170,000 and 2,122,000 units respectively, down 13.9% and 13% than that of last month, but up 4.3% and 6.3% year on year. Their growth rates increased 3.7 percentage points and 6.8 percentage points than the previous year. For the first four months, the production and sales of automobiles were 8,760,000 and 8,650,000 units respectively, up 5.7% and 6.1% year on year, 1.6 percentage points and 3.3 percentage points higher than the same period of last year.
