The market share of Chinese brand passenger cars yearly up

In April, the total sales of Chinese brand passenger cars reached 748,000 units, up 8.7% year on year, accounting for 42% of the total sales of passenger cars. The market share increased 0.8 percentage points than the previous year. To be specific, the sales of Chinese brand cars were 170,000 units, down 13.4% year on year, accounting for 18.8% of the total sales of cars, with a decrease of 2.3 percentage points on market share. On the contrary, the sales of Chinese brand SUV and MPV both enjoyed growth in sales volume and market share. The sales reached 334,000 units and 158,000 units respectively, up 39.8% and 9.6% year on year. Their market shares increased 3.2 percentage points and 1.7 percentage points, reaching 54.9% and 88% respectively.
        For the first four months, the accumulated sales of Chinese brand passenger cars reached 3,301,000 units, up 10.5% year on year. The market share increased 1.5 percentage points than the previous year, reaching 44.3%. To be specific, the sales of Chinese brand cars were 731,000 units, down 19.6% year on year, with a decrease of 2.9 percentage points on market share, reaching 19.6%. On the contrary, the sales of Chinese brand SUV and MPV both enjoyed growth in sales volume and market share. The sales reached 1,489,000 units and 778,000 units respectively, up 53.1% and 15.8% year on year. Their market shares increased 2.6 percentage points and 2 percentage points, reaching 57.9% and 91.6% respectively.
