In March, The sales and production of passenger cars enjoyed a favourable performance. The production and sales of passenger cars reached 2,143,000 and 2,056,000 units respectively, up 52.8% and 49.3% than that of last month, but up 11% and 9.8% year on year, 0.7% and 1% yearly growth is higher than the auto industry.
        This month, the sales of passenger cars with engine capacity of 1.6L and below reached 1,464,000 units, up 10.7% year on year, 0.9 percentage points higher than the overall growth of the passenger cars. The sales accounted for 71.2% of the total sales of passenger cars.
        For the first quarter, the production and sales of passenger cars were 5,702,000 and 5,669,000 units respectively, up 7.3% and 6.8% year on year, 1.1% and 0.8% yearly growth is higher than the industry.
        As for the passenger cars by type, comparing with the same period of last year, SUV continued a high-speed growth, of which the production and sales were up 50.8% and 51.5%. MPV also enjoyed a growth, with an increase of both 14.9% in production and sales. As for cars, the production and sales witnessed decline, down 8.4% and 9.3% respectively. Moreover, the situation of crossed passenger cars was even worse, of which such figures decreased by 31% and 33.1%.
