In July, the total sales of Chinese brand passenger cars reached 634,000 units, up 27.6% year on year, accounting for 39.5% of the total sales of passenger cars. The market share increased 0.4 percentage points than the previous year. To be specific, the sales of Chinese brand cars were 142,000 units, up 12.1% year on year, accounting for 17.3% of the total sales of cars, with a decrease of 1.2 percentage points on market share. The sales of Chinese brand SUV and MPV both enjoyed growth in sales volume and market share. The sales reached 314,000 units and 131,000 units respectively, up 57.1% and 38.4% year on year. Their market shares increased 3.4 percentage points and 1.2 percentage points, reaching 54.1% and 85.6% respectively.
For the first seven months, the accumulated sales of Chinese brand passenger cars reached 5,368,000 units, up 14.4% year on year. The market share increased 1.2 percentage points than the previous year, reaching 42.5%. To be specific, the sales of Chinese brand cars were 1,198,000 units, down 13.0% year on year, with a decrease of 2.5 percentage points on market share, reaching 18.8%. On the contrary, the sales of Chinese brand SUV and MPV both enjoyed growth in sales volume and market share. The sales reached 2,485,000 units and 1,216,000 units respectively, up 52.9% and 22.8% year on year. Their market shares increased 2.9 percentage points and 2.2 percentage points, reaching 56.0% and 89.9% respectively.
