The growth of passenger cars higher than the overall growth on yearly basis

In July, the production and sales of passenger cars reached 1,718,000 and 1,605,000 units respectively, down 3.0% and 10.1% than that of last month, but up 31.8% and 26.3% year on year, continuing to grow on yearly basis, 2.9 percentage points and 3.3 percentage points higher than the overall growth of automobiles.
        For the first seven months, the production and sales of passenger cars were 12,818,000 and 12,647,000 units respectively, up 10.1% and 11.1% year on year. Comparing with the first six months, the growth rates enlarged 2.8 percentage points and 1.9 percentage points respectively. As for the passenger cars by type, comparing with the same period of last year, SUV continued a high-speed growth, of which the production and sales were up 43.7% and 44.9%. MPV also enjoyed a growth, with an increase of 15.9% and 19.9% in production and sales respectively. As for cars, the production and sales witnessed decline, down 2.3% and 1.5% respectively. Moreover, the situation of crossed passenger cars was even worse, of which such figures decreased by 34.3% and 33.3%.
        In July, the sales of passenger cars with engine capacity of 1.6L and below reached 1,144,000 units, up 38.6% year on year, 12.3 percentage points higher than the overall growth of the passenger cars. The sales accounted for 71.3% of the total sales of passenger cars.
