In October, the production and sales of passenger cars reached 2,287,000 and 2,344,000 units respectively, up 2.5% and 3.3% than that of last month, and up 19.8% and 20.3% year on year, 2.2 percentage points and 1.6 percentage points higher than the overall growth of automobiles.
For the first ten months, the production and sales of passenger cars were 19,105,000 and 19,096,000 units respectively, up 15.3% and 15.4% year on year. Comparing with the first nine months, the growth rates increased 0.6 percentage points and 0.7 percentage points respectively. As for the passenger cars by type, comparing with the same period of last year, SUV continued a high-speed growth, of which the production and sales were up 45.7% and 45.6%. MPV also enjoyed a rapid growth, with an increase of 19.7% and 22.6% in production and sales respectively. As for cars, the production and sales witnessed growth as well, both up 3.6%. While, the crossed passenger cars were not good, of which such figures decreased by 34.2% and 33.4%.
In October, the sales of passenger cars with engine capacity of 1.6L and below reached 1,713,000 units, up 28.1% year on year, 7.8 percentage points higher than the overall growth of the passenger cars. The sales accounted for 73.1% of the total sales of passenger cars.
For the first ten months, the sales of passenger cars with engine capacity of 1.6L and below reached 13,748,000 units, up 22.8% year on year, 4.1 percentage points higher than the same period last year, accounting for 72% of the total sales of passenger cars.
