In 2016, the accumulated sales of Chinese brand passenger cars reached 10,529,000 units, up 20.5% year on year. The market share increased 2 percentage points than the previous year, reaching 43.2%. To be specific, the sales of Chinese brand cars were 2,340,000 units, down 3.7% year on year, with a decrease of 1.4 percentage points on market share, reaching 19.3%. On the contrary, the sales of Chinese brand SUV and MPV both enjoyed growth in sales volume and market share. The sales reached 5,268,000 units and 2,238,000 units respectively, up 57.6% and 19.9% year on year. Their market shares increased 4.8 percentage points and 1.2 percentage points, reaching 58.2% and 89.6% respectively.
