The market share of Chinese brand passenger cars witnessed decline

In February, the total sales of Chinese brand passenger cars reached 786,000 units, up 22.9% year on year, accounting for 48.2% of the total sales of passenger cars. The market share increased 1.8 percentage points than the previous year. To be specific, the sales of Chinese brand cars were 173,000 units, up 34.8% year on year, accounting for 22.6% of the total sales of cars, with an increase of 3.3 percentage points on market share. The sales of Chinese brand SUV reached 434,000 units, up 49.3% year on year. The market share increased 4 percentage points, reaching 49.3%. The sales of Chinese brand MPV were 135,000 units, down 16.8% year on year, accounting for 91.5% of the total sales of MPV, with a decrease of 1.8 percentage points on market share.
    For the first two months, the accumulated sales of Chinese brand passenger cars reached 1,763,000 units, up 6.1% year on year. The market share decreased 0.1 percentage points than the previous year, reaching 45.8%. To be specific, the sales of Chinese brand cars were 374,000 units, up 3.4% year on year, with a decrease of 0.1 percentage points on market share, reaching 20.3%. The sales of Chinese brand SUV reached 978,000 units, up 28.3% year on year. The market share increased 3.3 percentage points, reaching 62.9%. The sales of Chinese brand MPV were 317,000 units, down 22.4% year on year, accounting for 89.5% of the total sales of MPV, with a decrease of 4.2 percentage points on market share.
