In March, the production and sales of passenger cars reached 2,188,000 and 2,096,000 units respectively, up 18.4% and 28.4% than that of last month, and up 1.8% and 1.7% year on year, 1.3 percentage points and 2.3 percentage points lower than the overall growth.
For the first three months, the production and sales of passenger cars were 6,107,000 and 5,948,000 units respectively, up 6.8% and 4.6% year on year, 1.2 percentage points and 2.4 percentage points lower than the overall growth. As for the passenger cars by type, comparing with the same period last year, SUV continued growth, of which the production and sales were up 26.5% and 20.9%. The cars also enjoyed growth, up 1.8% and 0.6% respectively. While for MPV, the production and sales witnessed decline, down 15.9% and 17.4%. Moreover, the situation of crossed passenger cars was even worse, of which such figures decreased by 35.1% and 22.7%.
In March, the sales of passenger cars with engine capacity of 1.6L and below reached 1,451,000 units, down 0.1% year on year. The sales accounted for 69.2% of the total sales of passenger cars, 1.3 percentage points lower than the same period last year.
For the first three months, the sales of passenger cars with engine capacity of 1.6L and below reached 4,196,000 units, up 4.8% year on year, 0.1 percentage points higher than the same period last year, accounting for 70.6% of the total sales of passenger cars.
