In September, the production and sales of passenger cars reached 2,297,000 and 2,343,000 units respectively, up 28.4% and 24.9% than that of last month, and up 2.9% and 3.3% year on year, 2.6 percentage points and 2.4 percentage points lower than the overall growth.
For the first nine months, the production and sales of passenger cars were 17,328,000 and 17,150,000 units respectively, up 3% and 2.4% year on year, 1.7 percentage points and 2.1 percentage points lower than the overall growth. As for the passenger cars by type, comparing with the same period last year, except that SUV continued growth, of which the production and sales were up 16.4% and 16.1%, others all witnessed decline. To be specific, the production and sales of cars were down 0.9% and 1.5% respectively. For MPV, the production and sales were down 15.4% and 17.1%. The situation of crossed passenger cars was even worse, of which such figures decreased by 27.4% and 25.5%.
In September, the sales of passenger cars with engine capacity of 1.6L and below reached 1,617,000 units, in line with the same period last year. The sales accounted for 69% of the total sales of passenger cars, 2.2 percentage points lower than the same period last year.
For the first nine months, the sales of passenger cars with engine capacity of 1.6L and below reached 11,701,000 units, down 1.8% year on year, 2.9 percentage points lower than the same period last year, accounting for 68.2% of the total sales of passenger cars.
