In March, the production and sales of passenger cars reached 2,090,000 and 2,019,000 units respectively, up 83.3% and 65.6% than that of last month, but down 5% and 6.9% year on year. The decrease rate was still higher than the overall, though obviously narrowed.
For the first quarter, the production and sales of passenger cars were 5,227,000 and 5,263,000 units respectively, down 12.4% and 13.7% year on year. The decrease rate shrank 4.4 percentage points and 3.8 percentage points comparing with the first two months. As seen by type, comparing with the same period last year, the production and sales of cars were down 9.9% and 12.1% respectively. SUV also witnessed decline. Such figures were down 15% and 14.2%. For MPV, the production and sales were down 16.9% and 22.4%. For crossed passenger cars, the production was up 10.6%, while the sales down 6.9%.
