According to statistics and analysis of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM)，China automobile sales were 1,648,902 units in August, increase 8.74% compared with last month, and increase 10.28% compared with the same period of last year. Among main automobile categories, passenger car sales was 1,353,235 units, increase 9.34% compared with last month, and up 11.02 percent year on year; the sales of commercial vehicle was up to 295,667 units, increase 6.07% compared with last month, and up 6.99 percent year on year.
        From January to August, Chinese auto sales exceeded 13,947,647 units, increase 11.81 percent compared with the same period of last year. Passenger car sales increase 13.08 percent year on year to about 11,255,989 units; commercial vehicle sales exceeded 2,691,658 units, a increase of 6.78 percent from a year earlier.
