The sales and production of passenger cars achieved great growth

In September of 2013, the sales and production of passenger cars enjoyed a good performance, achieving great growth than that of last month and growth even faster from the previous year. The growth was higher than the overall level of automobiles. As for the first nine months, the overall growth of passenger cars relatively improved than that of from January to August in sales and production.
        In this month, the production and sales of passenger cars were 1,576,400 and 1,593,500 units respectively, up 13.6% and 17.8% than that of last month, and up 16.5% and 21.1% from a year earlier. From the perspective of auto type, all types shared an over 10% of increase comparing with last month, of which MPV and SUV maintained the higher growth from the previous year. The growth of SUV exceeded 60% both in production and sales; while the growth of cars was relatively low. The cross passenger cars even witnessed a decline.
        From January to September, the production and sales of passenger cars accumulatively reached 12,927,100 and 12,849,300 units respectively, up 13.7% and 14% year on year. Their growth rates enjoyed an increase of 0.3 percentage points and 0.9 percentage points than that of the first eight months. Comparing with the same period of 2012, the growth of SUV continued to increase than that of the first eight months in sales and production. As for cars, the growth of production continued to drop; while the sales showed an increase.
