In October of 2013, the sales of Chinese brand passenger cars reached 650,700 units, up 6.9% than that of last month and up 11.1% year on year, accounting for 40.5% of the total sales of passenger cars. The sales increased by 2.3 percentage points than that of last month, but decreased by 4.6 percentage points from the previous year.
For the first ten months, the sales of Chinese brand passenger cars were 5,775,700 units, up 12% year on year, 3 percentage points lower than the overall growth. The sales accounted for 40% of the total sales of passenger cars, down 1.1 percentage points from a year earlier.
In October, the sales of Chinese brand cars reached 299,600 units, up 8.5% than that of last month and up 5.8% year on year. The sales accounted for 28.3% of the total sales of cars. The market share increased by 2.4 percentage points comparing with last month, but down 3 percentage points from the previous year.
For the first ten months, the sales of Chinese brand cars were 2,610,800 units, up 9.6% year on year, accounting for 26.9% of the total sales of cars. The market share has decreased by 0.4 percentage points from the previous year.
This month, the sales of German brand, Japanese brand, American brand, Korean brand and French brand respectively accounted for 18.7%, 17%, 12.8%, 7.8% and 2.9% of the total sales of the passenger cars. Comparing with last month, the sales and market share of French brand enjoyed a slight increase while others experienced decrease to some extent. As for year-on-year comparison, due to a relatively low base, the sales of Japanese brand increased by 1.8 times. Besides, American brand showed a good performance, with an increase of 26.2%.
In October, the sales of German cars, Japanese cars, American cars, Korean cars and French cars respectively accounted for 24.6%, 18.1%, 16.3%, 8.4% and 4% of the total sales of cars. Comparing with last month, the market share of American and French brand witnessed a slight increase while others decreased to some degrees.
For the first ten months, generally speaking, the market of major foreign brand passenger cars continued to recover, of which Japanese brand stopped decreasing and up 4.7% and others maintained an increase of 20%. The accumulative market share of German, Japanese, American, Korean and French passenger cars were 19.7%, 15.6%, 12.5%, 8.9% and 3.1% respectively.
From January to October, for the sales of major foreign brand cars comparing with the same period of last year, Japanese cars were up 1.7% and the growth of German, Korean and French cars was higher than the overall speed of the industry. But the growth of American cars was lower than the overall speed. The accumulative market share of German, Japanese, American, Korean and French cars were 25.4%, 17.4%, 16%, 9.8% and 4.2% respectively.
