The market share of Chinese brand passenger cars decreased sharply

In January, the sales of Chinese brand passenger cars reached 709,400 units, down 6.6% than that of last month and down 5.1% year on year, accounting for 38.4% of the total sales of passenger cars. The sales decreased by 4.4 percentage points than that of last month, and decreased by 4.9 percentage points from the previous year.
        In January, the sales of Chinese brand cars reached 278,800 units, down 24.5% than that of last month and down 22.2% year on year. The sales accounted for 23.3% of the total sales of cars. The market share decreased by 8.1 percentage points comparing with last month, and down 6.9 percentage points from the previous year.
        This month, the sales of German brand, Japanese brand, American brand, Korean brand and French brand respectively accounted for 21.5%, 13.6%, 13.1%, 9.5% and 3.6% of the total sales of the passenger cars. Comparing with last month, except for Japanese brand, all the other brands achieved growth. While for a year-on-year comparison, all the foreign brands grew faster than the overall growth of passenger cars.
        In January, the sales of German cars, American cars, Japanese cars, Korean cars and French cars respectively accounted for 28.6%, 16.7%, 14.7%, 11.3% and 5% of the total sales of cars. Comparing with last month, only Japanese cars declined obviously; others enjoyed a double-digit growth. While comparing with last January, all brands increased to some extent, of which German cars and French cars grew faster.
