The market share of Chinese brand passenger cars decreased significantly in February

In February, the sales of Chinese brand passenger cars reached 503,700 units, down 29% than that of last month, but up 5.4% year on year, accounting for 38.4% of the total sales of passenger cars. The sales were in line with last month, but decreased by 4.6 percentage points from the previous year.Since last September, the monthly market share of Chinese brand passenger cars has decreased sharply comparing with that of the same period of last year. Such momentum has lasted for six months, which is worthy of attention.
        For the first two months, the sales of Chinese brand passenger cars were 1,213,100 units, down 1% year on year; while the overall growth of passenger cars even surpassed 10%. The sales accounted for 38.4% of the total sales of passenger cars, down 4.8 percentage points from a year earlier.
        In February, the sales of Chinese brand cars reached 177,700 units, down 36.2% than that of last month and down 18.2% year on year. The sales accounted for 21.4% of the total sales of cars. The market share decreased by 1.9 percentage points comparing with last month, down 7.6 percentage points from the previous year.
        For the first two months, the sales of Chinese brand cars were 456,500 units, down 20.7% year on year, accounting for 22.5% of the total sales of cars. The market share has decreased by 7.2 percentage points from the previous year.
