Though the sales and production of automobiles in May fell back a little comparing with that of in April, they kept a rapid growth on yearly basis. The whole industry ran smoothly. This month, the production and sales of automobiles in China reached 1,975,800 and 1,911,200 units respectively, down 4.4% and 4.6% than that of last month, but up 11% and 8.5% year on year.
        For the first five months, the production and sales of automobiles were 9,928,000 and 9,838,100 units respectively, up 9.4% and 9% year on year. But their growth rates decreased by 4.1 percentage points and 3.6 percentage points than the previous year.
