The production of automobiles in August was slightly lower than that of last month, but had a smaller increase on yearly basis. While for sales, such figures all enjoyed a modest increase. No matter in production or sales, the yearly increase rates of this month fell into the lowest level of the year. As a result, the accumulated growth rate of automobiles in sales and production fell below 9%.
        In August, the production and sales of automobiles in China reached 1,714,400 and 1,715,600 units respectively, down 0.3% in production but up 6% in sales than that of last month, and up 2.2% and 4% year on year. For the first eight months, the production and sales of automobiles were 15,218,900 and 15,017,300 units respectively, up 8.6% and 7.7% year on year. But their growth rates decreased by 2.9 percentage points and 3.6 percentage points than the previous year.
