In 2014, the sales of Chinese brand passenger cars increased by 4.1% than the previous year; however, its market share decreased by 2.1 percentage points. To be specific, the sales for Chinese brand cars were down 17.4%, with a decrease of 5.6 percentage points in market share. On the contrary, the sales of Chinese brand SUV enjoyed growth both in sales and market share. Such figures increased by 50.4% and 4.1 percentage points respectively than that of the previous year.
Generally speaking, the market share of Chinese brand passenger cars and cars itself continued to decline for four successive years, of which the situation of cars was even closed to such in 2004.
