The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology "Technical Conditions for Pure Electric Passenger Vehicles" solicits opinions

On June 17, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Technical Requirements for Pure Electric Passenger Vehicles" (Draft for Solicitation of Comments) (hereinafter referred to as the "Draft for Comments"). Some technical clauses in the "Technical Conditions" national standard have been modified or deleted, including the maximum speed, driving range, and requirements for the battery system of electric vehicles. The most significant revision of the draft opinions is to consider low-speed electric vehicles as a sub-category of pure electric passenger vehicles, name them mini low-speed pure electric passenger vehicles, and clarify its basic safety technical indicators requirements. According to the characteristics of low-speed, miniaturization, and lightweight of mini-low-speed pure electric passenger vehicles, relevant technical conditions and test methods are formulated. Compared with the safety requirements of pure electric passenger vehicles, the safety requirements of miniature low-speed pure electric passenger vehicles are not reduced
